Ravin des Arcs canyoning near Montpellier

Perfect for initiation in spring, this canyon is located from 20 km of Montpellier.

Nearby Saint Martin de Londres, this canyon follows hiking trails leading to the amazing rock arche on the top of the river.

After a small Garrigue (a particular french habitate) hiking, we will start by floating, followed by multiple jumps, zip line splash and giant natural pools. The finish is materilized by the mythical spider abseiling.

It will be a rafraishing afternoon full of colours.

What is the canyoning ?

The canyoning, ludical sport water activity, is the association of a myriad of activites. Therefore, to progress all the way of a torrent, we’ll have to execute jumps and slides into natural clear water pools. Moreover, you’ll perform abseils all along waterfalls, de-escalation to follow the winding river.

What to do near the canyon of Ravin des Arcs

  • If you are in the area, it is also possible to discover the Devil’s bridge canyon in the Hérault gorges, near Saint-Guilhem le Désert. Ranked among one of the most beautiful villages in France.
  • You aspire to more aerial sensations, you can make a detour to go to the Thaurac via-ferrata above the Hérault gorges.
  • Around the Thaurac via ferrata, you will find the Moulin canoe. You will embark on a descent of the Hérault gorges.
  • And of course the Ravin des Arcs hike, which is worth a detour if you are in the vicinity of Montpellier. A nice walk along the Lamalou.
